Trojans, Cowboys end regular season

The Tri-Town Trojans completed the Tri-State League regular season on a positive note by whipping the Terryville Black Sox 8-1 on the road on Sunday.
Miles Scribner pitched a five-hitter and struck out 11 to lead the Trojans, who finished 13-9 and will be the fourth seed in the upcoming league playoffs. Steve Price had two doubles, a single and one RBI, and Dan McCarty and Joe Bunnell each had two singles and two RBI.
The Litchfield Cowboys, meanwhile, split a pair of games on Sunday, defeating Thomaston 5-1 and losing to Waterbury, 8-4. Ed Pequignot had two hits and two RBI and Leland McKenna was the winning pitcher against Thomaston. Pequignot had two hits and McKenna a triple against Waterbury. The Cowboys ended 9-13 and out of the running for the playoffs.
