The Tri-Town baseball league's All-Star team for 11 and 12 year-old has reached the semifinals of the District 6 tournament under coach Fred Bunnell.
Tri-Town will play Avon today (Friday) at 5:30 in Avon, with the winner moving on to the finals Saturday at 2 in Burlington. The winner of the tournament moves on to the state tournament in Bristol.
Tri-Town has won three of the four games it has played in the tournament and has surrendered just 11 runs.
"Our defense and pitching has been fantastic," Bunnell said. "We have a loose bunch of kids who have fun and play good baseball."
Bunnell, who is assisted by Scott McCarthy and Dwight Rollins, will send Connor Rollins to the mound against Avon.
Rollins has been a standout for the club, as have the likes of Nick Andro, Brandon Hookstadt, Matt McCarthy, Ryan Cuttitta and Nick Ganio.
