Litchfield.bz (7-12-10)

Connor Murray, top, of the Tri-Town Trojans hustles to first base in Sunday's 14-1 victory over Bristol at Community Field. Dan McCarty takes a big cut and Casey McDonald, right, is greeted by Kyle Osolin after scoring a run.

The Tri-Town Trojans are getting hit at the right time in the Tri-State League. Behind 17 hits, the Trojans routed Bristol 14-1 at Community Field to improve to 7-8 with seven games left in the regular season.
The Trojans are fighting for a playoff spot and need their offense to continue to produce to make it to the postseason. Kyle Osolin had a triple, single and three RBI, Landon Gardella a triple, single and one RBI, Jon Smart two doubles and two RBI, Nick Lahoud and Troy Kobylarz each had two singles and one RBI, and Steve Price had two singles.
Miles Scribner went six innings to pick up the win. John Conley tossed two scoreless innings in relief and Connor Murray pitched a scoreless ninth.
The Litchfield Cowboys, meanwhile, lost to Torrington 5-0 on Sunday. The Cowboys did beat Torrington 3-2 in the completion of a game that was suspended last month. Eddie Pequignot's single drove in the winning run. Litchfield's only hits in the defeat came from Brad Sincovic and Dylan Stiles.
