Litchfield.bz (6-30-10)

Tri-Town Trojans shortstop Dan McCarty turns a double play in Tuesday's victory over Thomaston at Community Field. Trojans pitcher Andrew Osolin fires a pitch and pursues a roller in the infield.

Dan McCarty's three-hit, three-RBI performance led the Tri-Town Trojans to a 14-6 romp over the Thomaston Spoilers in a Tri-State League game Tuesday at Community Field.

McCarty stroked two doubles and a single to pace the Trojans' 16-hit attack. The win was the sixth in 14 games for the Trojans and keeps them alive the race to make the league playoffs.

Kyle Osolin added two doubles and three RBI, Nick Kobylarz two singles and two RBI, and Nick Lahoud two singles for the Trojans, who broke the game open with six runs in the third inning and five in the fifth. Connor Murray joined the hit parade with a two-run triple and Landon Gardella, Jon Smart and Joe Bunnell each drove in a run with singles.

Andrew Osolin went five innings to pick up the win.

The Litchfield Cowboys, meanwhile, lost to Tribury 15-3 on Thursday to fall to 5-9. Carl Quist had a double for the Cowboys.
