Litchfield's softball team played one of its better games of the season Wednesday in a 6-1 loss to once-beaten Terryville.
The Cowgirls received a complete-game five-hitter from Jenny Cappello and made the game close until Terryville struck for its final three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Litchfield finished 5-15 but gained valuable experience for next season, when most of coach Rachael Johnson's club returns.
