Litchfield High's girls tennis team defeated Northwestern 3-2 on Thursday to finish the regular season 14-2 and tied for first place in the Berkshire League with Shepaug.

The two teams are expected to challenge for the championship in the league tournament, which begins Saturday.

In Thursday's win for Litchfield, Ellie Motta won 8-0 in singles and both doubles teams won. Lydia Brown and Michelle McFerran won 8-1 and Carly Tutolo and Emma Hauer won 8-0. Angelica Cofer and Taylor Matthews were defeated in their singles matches.
