Freshman Devin Meeker of Litchfield was the ace of the pitching staff for the Mount Ida College softball team this spring.
She had a good season with the bat, too.
Meeker was 13-11 with a 2.53 earned-run average in 166.1 innings. She struck out 108 and walked 21 in 31 games, 25 of which she started. She completed 23 of her starts.
At the plate, Meeker batted .328 with 40 hits in 122 at-bats. She had 11 doubles, 32 runs, 11 RBI and 10 stolen bases.
The 2009 Litchfield High graduate is studying to be a veterinary technician and a dean's list student. Mount Ida is in Newton, Mass.
