A spirited performance left Litchfield High's swim team in second place at the Berkshire League championship meet Saturday at the University of Connecticut.
Litchfield gave unbeaten Shepaug all it could handle in finishing with 330 points. Shepaug won with 346 points.
The meet came down to the final event, the 400 free relay. Shepaug clinched first place by finishing second. Litchfield came in fourth.
Joe O'Leary was second in the 100 butterfly in posting Litchfield's top individual performance. Aiden Dyer and Eric Sandrib were third in the 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley, respectively. Litchfield was second in the 200 free relay and third in the 200 medley relay.
