Quinn McKenna, in action against Wamogo last month, has been lost for the season due to a stress fracture in his back.

Facing adversity in a tough atmosphere, Litchfield High's boys basketball team came through with a solid performance in winning 51-45 at Wolcott Tech on Friday.

Tech's small gym was a cauldron of noise, but the Cowboys played with poise in winning for the 12th time in 15 games. They did so without junior point guard Quinn McKenna, who will miss the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his back.

Making up for McKenna's loss were Mike Andrulis with 21 points, Tony Brown with 15 and Caleb Buck with eight. A hot-shooting Andrulis had 17 of his points in the first half, which ended with the Cowboys up 32-27.

Tech put the clamps on Andrulis in the second half, but Brown and Buck picked up the slack as the Cowboys hung on for a hard-earned victory against a senior-laden Wildcat club. The Cowboys made nine of 11 free throws in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
