LHS graduate Danielle O'Dell first woman in triathlon

Former Litchfield High cross-country and swimming standout Danielle O'Dell was the first female finisher in the Fantastic Nantasket Triathlon in Hull, Mass. on Sept. 27.
O'Dell, 32, finished the half-mile swim, 10-mile bike ride and 3.1-mile run in 1 hour, 53 seconds. The swim was held in rough surf in the Atlantic Ocean. O'Dell was 25th overall.
She lives in Nantucket, Mass., where she works as a wildlife biologist. She is the daughter of Litchfield Athletic Hall of Fame Tom O'Dell and his wife, Robin.
