The event was a success, with more than $1,000 being raised through the sale of gifts and services donated by the businesses and other businesses in town. The proceeds will be contributed to the Making Strides walk Oct. 17 at the White Memorial Conservation Center.
Along with raising money for the walk, employees of the Cobble Court businesses will also participate in it.
"We expect to have about 20 people doing the walk," said Catherine Lavoie of Creative Stress Management. "All of us have been affected by cancer in some way and we wanted to do something to help."
Lavoie and Mierzwinski of Faces in Thyme organized Sunday's event.
Donors include the Litchfield Country Club, @The Corner, Chowderheads, the Village Restaurant, Ripe Tomato, Woods Pit BBQ, Accents, Derwin's Clothiers, Flora and Fauna, Flowers of Distinction, Chris Gemelli, Webster Bank, Hayseed, Jennifer's Hair by Design, Judy's Pins and Needles, Litchfield Hills Nursery, Margo's Hair Design, Marrin and Santore Real Estate, Murphy's Pharmacy, Three Oaks Chocolatier, Cobble Court Healing Arts, Creative Stress Management, Faces in Thyme, Cynful Scents, Sarah Lavoie-Stamos and John Stamos, and Silversmiths.
