A bountiful tomato crop in Litchfield is helping benefit the food supply at the Torrington Community Soup Kitchen. Dick and Liz Dauphinais have stockpiled hundreds of tomatoes at the home on Harris Road after harvesting them from a garden they planted at Bunnell Farm. Now the task is to peel, slice and bag the tomatoes for the soup kitchen. The work is going on this week at the Dauphinais' garage. In the photos from Monday are, top to bottom, Pat Mossimann of Morris, tomatoes waiting to be peeled and sliced, Liz Dauphinais, and crates of ripening tomatoes. Anyone interested in helping process the tomatoes can call Dick Dauphinais at (860) 567-0464.
