Softball game benefits Wounded Warrior
Litchfield.bz (8-27-10)

Warren resident Marty Cassone, a military veteran, organized a softball game Wednesday to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps permanently disabled veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The game was held at Warren Field and had about 25 participants. First Selectman Jack Travers served as the umpire. In the photos, Jack Baker delivers a pitch with Travers in the background; Woody Rahm turns on the speed heading for first base; Collin Dickinson takes a swing; Brian Malarkey swings and misses; Rose Quint makes contact; Marty Cassone waits for the throw to first base; and some of the participants in action.
