Craig Miner will have an opponent in the 66th District state representative race after all.
The Litchfield Republican, seeking his sixth term, will face Democrat William Zappone of Litchfield in November. Zappone on Thursday said he will accept the nomination of 66th District Democrats at their caucus Tuesday at La Cupola Restaurant in Bantam.
It appeared that Miner would run uncontested after his original opponent, Nathaniel Peters-Kroll of Woodbury, withdrew from the race in July. The 66th District includes Litchfield, Warren, Morris, Bethlehem and Woodbury.
Zappone has lived in Litchfield for five years. He is a sales representative for Xerox.
