Miner's opponent drops out in 66th
Litchfield.bz (8-2-10)

State Rep. Craig Miner (R-Litchfield) will likely run unopposed in November now that his Democratic opponent has dropped out of the 66th District race.

Nathaniel Peters-Kroll of Woodbury withdrew from the race 10 days ago. Peters-Kroll, who graduated from college in May, withdrew to pursue a job offer.

Peters-Kroll accepted the nomination to run for state representative at the 66th District caucus in May. He agreed to be the nominee only after no one else stepped forward and informed delegates from Litchfield, Warren, Morris, Bethlehem and Woodbury that he would likely drop out if a job offer came his way.

Democratic State Central Committee member Audrey Blondin of Litchfield said it is unlikely that a new candidate will emerge before the early September deadline.

Miner is seeking a sixth term as state representative.
