Summer season kicks into high gear at Sandy Beach
Litchfield.bz (6-30-10)

Swim lessons started at Sandy Beach on Monday with all of the classes filled to capacity. Lessons with certified instructors are scheduled for two week periods throughout the summer months. There is still some space available in second and third sessions, stop by the beach for more information. Season passes are now available at Sandy Beach for the summer season, they are also available at the Litchfield and Morris Town Halls.

Funds are also being raised for the Sandy Beach Restoration Project to restore the buildings and replace the septic system. "Buckets for the Beach" is a fundraiser to collect "loose change" to help match a $25,000 Seherr-Thoss Foundation grant. Swimmers and their parents are already helping to fill the buckets with change. If you want to help, you can send donations to the Sandy Beach Commission 74 West Street, Box 488, Litchfield, CT 06759. More information is also available at their web site: http://www.sandybeachatbantamlake.info/

Sandy Beach is open every day throughout the summer from 9am - 7pm
