The annual Connecticut Junior Republic Golf Invitational drew more than 100 golfers to the Torrington Country Club in Goshen on Monday. Most importantly, the event raised about $60,000 for the Litchfield-based CJR. Union Savings Bank served as the principal sponsor of the outing and presented a check of $10,000 to CJR's executive director John Boyd. Presenting the check were the bank's CEO John Kline and regional president Joseph Greco. Also on hand for the presentation were the invitational's chairman, Robert Phalen of the Litchfield Insurance Group, and Greg Oneglia, founding chairman of the invitational and vice chairman of O&G Industries. In the photo with the check are, from left, Greco, Phalen, Kline, Oneglia and Boyd. Kline and Oneglia are shown discussing their golf games. Also pictured are participants, from left, Chip Roraback of Goshen and Dutch Barhydt and Bill Sweetman, both of Litchfield.
