Lions Club celebrates 60th anniversary

The Litchfield Lions Club inducted six new members during its 60th anniversary dinner Saturday at the Litchfield Country Club. Inducted were Christopher Houghton, Ed Claire, Tom Battiste, John Houllahan, Sue Carpenter and John Sniffen. John Bongiorno took the reins as the new president of the club, succeeding Rick Bunnell. Dick Ford, a member of the club for 46 years, was honored for his service, as were the following members for their 20-plus years of service: Ron Filippini (47 years), Guy Baldwin and Roland Barbe (33 years each), David Smith (31), Frank Fisher (27), Peter Carpenter (26), Rick Bunnell (24), and Mort Spencer (22).
