Bantam is called the most patriotic square mile in the country for good reason. It was proven again on Sunday when American Legion Post 44 of Bantam held its annual Memorial Day parade, which featured a march through the center of Bantam and a ceremony at the All Wars Memorial. The principal speaker was Joseph Greco, regional president of Union Savings Bank.

Post members, Scouts, the Civil Air Patrol, the Army National Guard, First Selectman Leo Paul Jr., Selectman Christopher Blake and the Rev. John McCann of Our Lady of Grace Church were among the participants.
