Litchfield Holiday Ornament now available

The Litchfield Parks and Recreation Holiday Ornament for 2009 has arrived. This year’s collector’s item is truly unique as it is a “heads and tales” medallion designed by two artists from Litchfield High School and struck at Woodbury Pewter. It highlights the All Wars Memorial in Bantam. The young people who had their drawing selected, juniors Sandra Quinion and Christopher Rolli, are students in Mrs. Barbara Salinger’ art classes. The holiday ornaments have been a tradition in Litchfield since the Parks and Recreation Department began to mint them in 1989, selecting a new site each year to salute, with this year’s chosen subject being the nationally renowned All Wars Memorial in Bantam.

These medallions can be purchased at Litchfield’s Town Hall, the Litchfield Historical Society, The Litchfield Hills Indoor Farm-Fresh Market (Saturdays at the Litchfield Community Center), Murphy’s Pharmacy, and at the office of Litchfield Parks and Recreation Litchfield Farmer’s Market for $10.
